Our fuel cell plants generate electricity and usable high-quality heat or steam from the same unit of fuel. The heat or steam generated from this configuration, referred to as combined heat and power (CHP), can be used for heating buildings and many industrial processes.
Fuel cell microgrids are ideal for increasing energy resilience and establishing predictable energy costs. Our plants can be configured as microgrids, supplying reliable power during normal operation and disconnecting to provide power in the event of a grid disturbance.
Our platforms react fuels differently than thermal generators and do not mix fuel with air before it is used to make power. When CO2 is created in our platforms, it is relatively easy to capture and export that CO2 as a valuable resource for many industrial purposes.
FuelCell Energy offers the only known platform that can capture carbon from an external source and produce more power and hydrogen at the same time. The fuel cell's power generation during the carbon capture process improves overall economics.
FuelCell Energy’s team is here to support you every step of the way. We’ll work to learn the details of your operation and recommend the best configuration to meet your goals. Let us know how we can help.
